Dr. Melissa Thompson is a pharmacist who has traversed between retail, hospital, and other non-traditional pharmacy settings while focusing on her passion for medication safety and quality improvement. She started her career as an inpatient pediatric clinical pharmacist. The unique need the pediatric population has for compounded medications initially drew Melissa from the inpatient world of pharmacy to an independent compounding focused community pharmacy. This led to other outpatient opportunities in integrative and retail practice settings. She has recently returned to the role of a clinical pharmacist in a pediatric hospital with an emphasis in improving patient outcomes through bolstering safe medication use.
